Aisha & Mustapha’s wedding brings us so much joy! What a perfect start to our wedding week.
The regal wedding in the North – with multi-city ceremonies spread across a few days, was rich in colour, culture and excitement.
On the meeting, the bride says, “We met at my aunt’s wedding way back in 2005. Well actually we didn’t really meet there, he saw me and later hustled for my number (lol). We later became very good friends and eventually started dating in 2006. We understood one another perfectly.”
Advice from the bride and groom -

Wedding Dinner
“I wore green for my wedding dinner without a reason lol okay probably because it contrasts with my skin tone well. It was designed by Yara Couture in Dubai. I never imagined wearing green on my wedding day and if anyone told me they were going to wear green for their big day I’d be like GREEN?! Which was exactly my husband’s first reaction when I told him the colour, but the green fabric spoke to me and it worked out perfectly – thankfully!”
Kamu
“I wore a yellow dress for the Kamu – it’s one of my favourite colours – and later changed into a red and gold dress. From what I know, the Kamu was initiated way back in the Hausa tradition when there used to be a lot of arranged marriages. The unhappy bride would run to an aunt’s house and the groom’s family members along with everybody will go and pay her friends some amount of money just to see their bride. This has now been modernised, where it’s a fun event for all. The yellow dress I wore was designed by Mardini Couture in Dubai, while the red dress is by my trusted tailor Boderie Apparel.”
Wedding Fatiha
“I wore a white buba for the wedding fatiha because white symbolizes peace which is one of the key ingredients for a successful marriage. At the wedding fatiha the bride price is paid thereby making the two individuals one, officially a couple.”
